ClickView has added support for Vivi playback which makes it really easy for teachers to cast videos and clips to Vivi devices within their school.
How do I enable the Vivi integration?
ClickView administrators can enable the Vivi integration via the ‘Settings’ option.
Settings -> Integrations -> Player cast integrations -> Enable Vivi
To enable the integration, your Vivi account needs to be linked to ClickView. Unlinked accounts will display 'Reconnect' within the Vivi Integration tile.
Linking ClickView and Vivi Accounts
To link accounts, click on the ‘cog’ icon, and then the 'Connect to Vivi' button in the popup window.
Sign-in with your Vivi credentials to link your Vivi and ClickView accounts. Users that sign into Vivi using SSO will be prompted to log in with their IDP.
After connecting to Vivi, the integration toggle is enabled. Simply toggle the integration on.
Configuring support for the latest version of ClickView in Vivi Central
Only Vivi devices configured with the correct firmware will be available for casting using the latest version of ClickView. Device firmware can be configured using Vivi Central. The minimum firmware requirements are:
- Vivi Model 100 or 200 series device
- Vivi Firmware 3.7.0
Single device
ClickView recommends that an initial device or small number of devices are enabled and tested prior to moving all devices.
Login to Vivi Central and enable the ‘Content Integration API Override‘ toggle for each device that you would like to cast to.
Select Devices in the Vivi Central menu and click on your chosen device:
The Content Integration API toggle can be found under the ‘Details‘ tab for each device/room:
All devices
With initial tests completed, the ‘Content Integration API‘ can be enabled for all devices within your organisation by selecting the appropriate dropdown option from the ‘Integrations‘ page of Vivi Central.
Please be aware that this will cause all Vivi devices to switch over to using the latest version of ClickView. Devices registered using ClickView Online will no longer work from the ClickView Online website. Only proceed down this route if you are no longer using ClickView Online and have tested the new integration using a sample of devices.
From the Vivi Central Home Page, click on the Organisation option in the left-hand pane:
At the top of the main window, click on the Integrations tab and in the 'ClickView' section of the screen, select the Content Integration API option.
After switching a device (or set of devices) to use the ‘Content Integration API‘ - we recommend deactivating the pairing between the device and the original ClickView Online integration (if it is still active). This will prevent the device from being visible to users who may still be using the old ClickView platform.
Login to the old ClickView platform, or choose to go to the old platform through the banner at the top of your screen.
Once in the old platform, click on your avatar in the top right of the screen, select Settings and then select Devices from the left hand side of the screen:
From the devices screen, you'll see any linked devices. Simply click the 'Remove' button to unlink the device:
Casting to Vivi
Finally, open the Vivi app, press Play Video -> Playlists followed by the orange ‘ClickView’ button. After a device is placed into ‘ClickView’ mode — it will become available for casting.
With the device in ClickView mode, teachers will be able to cast videos and clips to any Vivi devices configured in your school by pressing the ‘cast’ icon in the player.
Troubleshooting
Problems Signing Into Vivi
If you are having difficulty signing into Vivi, try logging out of Vivi Central first, then repeat the account linking process. If problems persist, please raise a support ticket within Vivi Central.
Playback Issues
If you are having trouble casting videos from the latest version of ClickView to your Vivi device, please check the following:
- Make sure that you have whitelisted inbound and outbound traffic to wss://*.vivi.io and https://integrations.clickviewapp.com/.
- Make sure that the device you are attempting to cast to is connected to the internet, and that the associated room has enabled the Content Integration API Override toggle in Vivi Central.
