ClickView administrators can customise the features that their students can view and access on a grade-by-grade basis.
How do I manage student permissions?
Administrators can access the permission management interface from the ‘Settings’ dropdown menu.
Settings → School management → Manage student permissions
This page is only accessible to ClickView administrators.
Configuring student permissions
The permission management page allows administrators to enable (or disable) specific features for their ClickView school on a year-level basis.
Use the toggles and checkboxes to configure the level of access your students will be granted when they sign into ClickView:
- Movies + TV: uncheck this permission to prevent students from accessing the Movies + TV library.
- Custom libraries: uncheck this permission to prevent students from accessing your school’s hosted or shared libraries.
- Restricted mode: toggle this permission to disable the permissions above, and to prevent students from searching, uploading videos and accessing ClickView’s curated content
Saving permissions
To simplify the process of administering permissions, ClickView will automatically cascade all permissions applied to a year group, to the year groups below.
If you make a mistake, press the ‘Undo changes‘ button to revert all permissions that might have been accidentally misconfigured.
After configuring your permissions, press the ‘Save changes’ button for your selections to take effect on student experiences.
Permissions in detail
Movies + TV
When unchecked, students in applicable year groups will not be able to access and browse content from the Movies + TV library. The link to Movies + TV will also be removed from the left-hand side navigation bar.
Custom libraries
When unchecked, students will not be able to browse any custom libraries that have been hosted by, or shared to your school. The libraries will be removed from the left-hand side navigation bar.
Restricted mode
To seamlessly apply the strictest set of permissions for a grade, admins can enable the ‘Restricted mode’ toggle.
When restricted mode is enabled, students will only be able to access videos that have been shared to them by a staff member from your school. Students will also lose the ability to:
- Access the Discover page and browse content curated by ClickView.
- Search for videos, clips, interactives and topics.
- Upload their own videos to ClickView.
Furthermore, enabling restricted mode will automatically disable all other listed permissions — giving administrators the ability to quickly lock down the student experience with one switch.
