Immersive Reader is a feature that exists within ClickView, and simply reads screen text aloud. The feature is available against video descriptions and interactive questions and has the benefit of improving reading and writing for people, regardless of their age or ability. Immersive Reader can improve reading comprehension and increase fluency for English language learners, and it also allows vision impaired users to listen to information about the video.
How do I access Immersive Reader?

What are the features of Immersive Reader?
With the Immersive Reader open, you can:
- Read out text aloud, and change the speed of reading.
Clicking the Play button at the bottom of the screen, the Immersive reader will start to read the screen text aloud. | |
Clicking the Voice Settings button at the bottom of the screen, users can alter the voice speed and choose between female or male voices: |
- Change font size, text spacing, and background colour.
Clicking the Text Preferences icon will open a side menu to allow users to edit the font size, spacing, font and colour: |
- Split up words into syllables, highlight nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs.
Clicking the Grammar Options icon will open a side menu to allow users to display the syllables of words, highlight nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs within the text: |
- Focus on a single or multiple lines of text and change language.
Clicking the Reading Preferences icon will open a side menu to allow users to focus the text on one or three lines at a time, and translate the test into different languages: |
