Transcripts in ClickView

This article will guide educators through the functionality and benefits of the new Transcripts feature in ClickView. Transcripts are now available for all videos that include captions, making it easier for educators to prepare lessons, support students, and create classroom activities.

What are Transcripts?

ClickView Transcripts provide a full-text version of the video dialogue, displayed in real time alongside the video. This feature highlights each sentence as it is spoken, enabling users to search for keywords, jump to specific moments, and download the transcript for further use.

Accessing Transcripts

You can access Transcripts in two different views:

1. Side-by-Side Panel

  • Opens next to the video player.

  • To open, click the captions icon in the video player.

2. Beneath the Video

  • Displays the full transcript below the video on the play page.

These views provide flexibility depending on how you prefer to engage with the content.

Key Features

Once you’ve opened the Transcripts panel, you can:

  • Search for keywords to jump to relevant sections of the video.

  • Click on any line to skip directly to that moment in the video.

  • Switch between supported languages, ideal for EAL students or bilingual learning.

  • Download the transcript to use in your lessons or share with students.
