This article will guide educators through the setup process of ClickView and Toddle integration. This will enable you to quickly and safely browse through your entire ClickView Library, select and embed videos to your assignments in Toddle and use ClickView interactive videos and grade passback functionality in Toddle.
Setting up LTI integration in Toddle
NOTE: Learning tool integrations are available upon request. To enable them for your school, please contact your school buddy. Once this integration is enabled, Toddle administrators will be able to set it up as follows:
Step 1: From the Toddle Dashboard, navigate to the the admin portal:
Step 2: Click on the 'School setup' option:
Step 3: You will be presented with the School information page, click on the 'LTI apps' from the left navigation bar:
Step 4: Click on the '+Add integration':
Step 5: In the 'Service' section, select 'ClickView' from the drop-down menu and 'Version' as 1.1:
Step 6: You will now see the 'Client key' and the 'Shared secret' sections. To enter these values, please refer to our Setting up LTI 1.1 guide and copy the 'Key' and 'Secret' values from ClickView.
In the 'Program' tab, you will be able to select from any available curriculum, below this the 'Enable LTI tool for teachers' checkbox will need to be ticked, as shown below:
Adding a ClickView video in Toddle
Once the above setup is completed by the admins, the teachers can start using these tools within their classroom, as described below:
As an educator, you can incorporate integrated learning tools into your classroom by adding them to the submission template when creating class assignments. Here's how you can do it:
1. Click on ‘Add an external tool’ within the 'Submission template' -> Select the 'ClickView' option:
2. ClickView will open up within Toodle, providing access to all videos of your ClickView Library:
3. Select a relevant video for your class task and click on the ‘Embed video’ option to add it to your assignment on Toddle:
4. In the pop-up, you can configure video size and autoplay before clicking ‘Embed’ to embed the video to your preference:
5. You have now emebedded a ClickView video in Toddle, it will appears as a submission template. This can be edited or removed using the three-dots on the right-hand-side. Clicking on the 'Assign' button will finalise the embed:
Student's View:
Once you assign the task, students can see the ClickView attachment in their assigned task. They can click on the ‘Add response’ button to begin interacting with the content. It will appears as follows for them:
Adding a ClickView interactive video with grade passback
ClickView interactive videos can be embedded to capture the student's attempt scores in Toddle, similar to the video embedding process; ClickView interactive video can be chosen and the 'Maximum score' can be allocated, the scores will automatically scale as per the maximum score you have set for your assignment in Toddle:
1. After clicking ‘Add response’, students can watch the assigned video within Toddle. If the video contains embedded quizzes, students will be prompted to answer them as they progress through the video:
2. Once students complete the video and quizzes, they can review their answers and submit them. They also have the option to continue watching the video if needed before finalising their submission.
After submitting their responses, students must click ‘Mark as done’ to indicate that they have completed the assignment.
3. Once the students have submitted their attempt, you can check their responses as well as marks scored by the student from the ‘All submissions’ tab:
- The submitted responses will include the student's quiz scores from ClickView, which will be automatically scaled according to the maximum score set for the assignment in Toddle.
- You can provide additional feedback, assess performance, and mark the submission as evaluated just like any other assignment on Toddle.
